I decided it was time for a makeover on the pantry...
I guess I've got too much time on my hands.
Here's the BEFORE.
AFTER:
This double door pantry has been great, but really it had become a hiding spot for... everything!
The white baskets were a nice idea... until things ended up like this
(note the bread can not be contained. What?!):
The only way to get this job done right was to clear the whole thing out.
The dining room table became a holding pen for all the goods.
My kids were lovin' this idea,
until I made them taste-test things to find out what we needed to pitch (ie. stale cereal!)
I started by gathering some jars and containers.
And then put the "containers" back in the pantry to create some order.
Now to figured out what was going where.
I got happy with my Silhouette and laminator.
I tried to use things I already had, like the white bins. Here's where I got some of the other things:
Of course I had to add some "cutesy" element. So I crafted up these letters to spell E A T:
More on how I did that in another post.
I kept the OATS in the original container and just took off the label and added my own!
I printed off basic cooking instructions for the Jasmine Rice and Bisquick...
and adhered it to the back of the canisters.
If you've never tried supreme pancakes with Biquick-you must.
They are so light and fluffy!
I can't promise the pantry will stay looking this nice.
After all I've got some snack-snatchers who are constantly in here!
it looks great! Great job, I love all the little touches.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good. I am loving your labels!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I've got those white baskets from Walmart too, which I love, but nobody knows what's in them! Labels...here I come! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! This looks awesome! Your sweets jar is making me crave Oreos now! =]
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Great job....we currently have the same problem with the bread...it's like each loaf has a baby when I'm not looking! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOkay there are so many things I love about your pantry! First I love the EAT sign at the top! Very very cute! And I also love how you added the directions to the jar...silly old me just cut the directions off of the package and put it inside the jar:)
ReplyDeletePantry makeovers are my favorite. Yours is beautiful! I love all the different containers you used, so awesome!
ReplyDeleteBrie from darlingdoodles.blogspot.com
@Latoya, I do the same as you when it comes to the directions. :)
ReplyDeleteIt never occurred to me that it would take up less space to store cereal outside of the box. We don't eat much cereal around here, but I will keep that in mind when we do have it in the pantry as our pantry and entire kitchen is very small.
